This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to construct dental prosthetic appliances and to take intra oral photographs.
You will learn about business and financial plans, oral anatomy and pathology, medical and dental conditions pertaining to the older patient, dental terminology, legal, ethical and occupational health and safety responsibilities. You will also learn skills specific to the role of a dental prosthetist. These include: impression taking, the recording of jaw relationships, the selection and preparation of equipment and materials appropriate to the stage of denture construction, take intra oral photographs, the ability to recognise, respond to and assist with dental and medical emergencies and consistently apply standard and additional precautions during all prosthetic procedures.
