This program enables current employed enrolled nurses to obtain specialised knowledge and skills to further their nursing career.
Students may select specific electives to enable them to pursue employment in specialised health care environments.
Please note, all particpants will be required to undertake vocational placement outside standard work hours and in areas relevant to their chosen area of specialisation. The individual student in conjunction with the Ramsay facility manager will be responsible for organising the clinical placement experience if required.
Each elective unit has 20 hours clinical placement time as one of the assessments. You will be required to participate in a range of activities as part of the 20 hour requirement. For example, in the cardiovascular elective unit you may be required to participate in the set up for insertion of an arterial line and central line. Participation of these activities would be signed off by your mentor.
Please note: When students have confirmed their elective units and enrolled there will be individual negotiation regarding the wards/areas you will be required to undertake the clinical placement component of the course.
