About the institution
This TAFE PLUS program is designed to help sporting players understand the harmful effects of alcohol and other drug use. It also prepares sporting players to be able to assess someone with AOD issues and provide intervention. To do this program you must be able to assess someone with AOD issues to provide intervention. At the completion of this program, you will be well informed about issues surrounding alcohol and other drugs in Australia, be able to recognise alcohol and drug use amongst other players and be able to adopt harm minimisation strategies. The Selected Study Program does not lead to an award or qualification, but at the end of your study, you receive a TAFE transcript of results listing the Units of Competency (units) achieved. This is not an accredited course however the Units of Competency are nationally accredited.
