Enables students to succeed in their chosen business profession.
Students can elect to complete the course with either:
- no major; or
- with a major in a Business discipline; or
- with two majors (where at least one is a Business discipline)

A feature of this course is the Business Edge units; a set of integrated general and professional skills units designed to link academic and professional pathways for educational development.
It prepares students for university level study by teaching the required skills for academic success.
Successful completion of the UPC meets ECU's minimum entry requirements for the majority of courses. Note - Prerequisites still apply for some courses.

The University Preparation Course is free for Australian Citizens and Humanitarian Visa holders.
Full-time students of this course may also eligible for the Youth Allowance. Details about the availability of the Youth Allowance may be obtained from Centrelink (Telephone: 132490).
