Students can learn the conceptual framework (OSI) which underpins Wide Area Networking (WANs), understanding the differences between hubs, switches and routers and know when it is appropriate to use each. They become familiar with Cisco IOS, the operating system of routers and configure Cisco Routers and Switches to interconnect with other Cisco networking devices; support a variety of protocols and networking technologies; and control access to different networking devices or segments.
