This qualification will provide you with the necessary skills to work as a dental assistant. It covers the skills and knowledge needed to assist a Dentist, Dental Hygienist or Dental Therapist in their work with patients. It’ll also provide you with skills to assist with practice administration.

You’ll learn about: communication and work in health; infection policy procedures; reusable instruments/equipment; oral health care; dental radiography; admin dental practice; first aid; and OHS processes.

This program provides entry-level training for staff working in a dental surgery as a dental assistant. The Certificate III in Dental Assisting qualification aligns with industry awards. On successful completion you’ll be qualified to assist during all health care procedures, to help maintain high standards of infection control and to assist with practice administration.
