You must be employed as a dental assistant within a dental practice or have a work placement in a dental practice to complete this program. The program provides the knowledge and skills needed to assist a dentist, dental hygienist or dental therapist during dental procedures, to help maintain high standards of infection control and to assist with practice administration. These dental assisting skills are practised and further developed under the supervision of the dentist.
