About the institution
This course is for Aboriginal people who work or want to work in educational settings as Aboriginal
Education Support workers. You will acquire the skills and knowledge needed to assist teachers working
with learners. The course consists of a compulsory core with electives providing you with a choice. You will
learn about contemporary issues in Aboriginal communities. You will also learn about maintaining effective
relationships with Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in the school and the community.
Please attend the Information Session which will be held on Thursday, 28 January at 10.30 am in LBlock,
Ground Floor, Room L.G.50. You will then need to attend the Enrolment Information Session
will take place on Monday, 1 February between 11 am – 7 pm, Mount Druitt College, Corner Mount
Street and North Parade, MOUNT DRUITT.
Located just a few minutes walk from the local train station, Mount Druitt College is Western Sydney Institute's main trade, technology and mechanical, civil, electrical and electronics engineering centre. We are a major centre for information technology (IT), transport and plumbing courses.
Modern information technology facilities support the advanced IT studies of students throughout Western Sydney.
Other College strengths include Aboriginal education as well as programs to meet the needs of unemployed youth and people from non-English speaking backgrounds.
