This course includes the underlying accounting concepts and theories that underpin all accounting practices. It goes on to cover the computerised application of accounting practices and how a computerised accounting package could be set up. It also covers the end of period reporting of financial results for a small business and the closing entries necessary for that reporting to occur.
Gaining the important basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, PowerPoint presentations and internet applications are a priority in this course. Other essential skills necessary for the successful participation in a workplace environment, such as communication, teamwork and customer-interaction, are also practised.
