This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to be competent in introductory ICT technical functions. It is designed to support information activities in the workplace and to achieve a degree of self sufficiency as an advanced ICT user.
The course covers hardware/operating systems and software applications. Some units examine the ‘advanced features’ of modern computer applications. The main emphasis is on learning design and problem solving techniques, within applications. Work covers:
1. Customising software applications and macros
2. Applications packages that are part of Microsoft Office 2003 suite
3. New technology associated with computer systems, both hardware and software
The Applications stream provides skills in advanced use of applications and could provide basic application software support within an organisation. This stream may provide for natural progression into several IT qualifications including Websites, Networks, Multimedia or Programming.
This study option does not require a formal application. Please take note of recommended entry requirements and enrol via one of the options listed below.

1. Download the associated enrolment documents and a copy of our Student Guide.
2. If you have Internet available, log on to Student Self Service (http://enrol.tafe.net) to create or update your personal student profile.
3. Call our Customer Service Centre on 131 248 during business hours with your credit card and concession details (if applicable) ready.
4. The Customer Service Officer will mail you a copy of your enrolment confirmation and receipt to confirm your enrolment.
5. If you are studying on campus, attend your orientation which will introduce you to your teachers and prepare you for your learning experience.
Enrol in person
