This qualification will provide you with the practical skills and knowledge to assist the teaching staff in schools and provide care and supervision for children with special learning and physical needs from kindergarten to Year 12. You will learn skills to manage challenging behaviours, assist in the classroom management and enhance the inclusion of children with special needs. You will also learn about special education processes and techniques. As part of this qualification you will undertake a supervised work placement where you will be able to apply the skills and knowledge you have learned.
General Enrolments for all qualifications offered at Durack Institute of Technology take place on:
1. Semester 1 General Enrolments 22 & 23 January
2. Students can also apply for a place in a course through TAFE Admissions.
This qualification is also available via Flexible Learning. What this means is that you can complete part or all of the qualification at a time and pace that suits you from your own location. You can enrol in this Flexible Learning qualification at any time of the year. You can also come see us personally at Training Support Services located in A Block (Geraldton Campus).
Currently enrolled students who wish to continue studying the same qualification will be advised by their lecturers to re-enrol towards the end of the semester.
