Topics include a selection of one or more of the following themes from the history of Christianity from the apostolic age until the Reformation era: detailed study of primary sources of the Church Fathers and Scholastics; analysis of the principal theological understandings of the Early and Medieval Church as these are revealed in theological writings, the decisions of councils, and the nature of religious controversies; the development of philosophical and religious thought; the nature of pre-Reformation spirituality; Christian art and literature; and models of leadership.
