Essentially there are two forms of conflict: destructive and constructive. Conflict pervades many aspects of life and the workplace is no exception. Conflict manifests as a result of differing beliefs, opinions, backgrounds, culture and a host of other factors. Conflict is not always bad, and understanding it, will help negate its potentially negative effects. Understanding workplace conflict, grievances and disputes is the first course (of two) in the program Conflict management. By completing this course students will be able to identify sources of workplace conflict, identify where conflict arises in teams and identify games people play in the workplace.
