Course in Plumbing Licensing

After you’ve completed a Course in Plumbing at Sunshine Coast TAFE, you can flow on to applying for a Queensland Building Services Authority (QBSA) Contractors Licence.
Upon successful completion of this course and after you’ve received your Full or Open Licence from the Plumbers and Drainer Board and/or a Gas Work Licence (issued by the Department of Mines and Energy), you will be eligible to apply to the QBSA for a Contractors Licence.

Throughout this course you’ll learn how to plan, size and layout: sanitary drainage systems; stormwater drainage systems; domestic treatment plant disposal systems; consumer gas installations; sanitary pipework and fixtures; and hot and cold water services/systems. We’ll also teach you how to estimate and cost work, establish business and legal requirements and carry out work based risk control processes.
