About the institution
This course teaches the learners to develop risk management procedures for the safe transport, storage and handling, mixing & loading, application and disposal of agricultural chemicals. They will have demonstrated the approach to controlling pests, including the selection of appropriate chemicals for a given pest and strategies to prevent the development of resistance to chemicals in pest species. However, employers must then apply this knowledge and skills to their workplace before their workplace will comply with relevant legislation and relations. People who have completed this course will be recognised by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority as having met training requirements for the purchase of some restricted chemicals.
All new applicants will need to come to the campus administration for admission. Applicants applying for application courses can apply online. For courses that have statutory age requirement applicants will need to bring proof of age. Students will need to provide evidence to be eligible for any exemption.
Learner Support is provided free at almost all TAFE NSW campuses. There are day and evening classes and Child care facilities are available
