The NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) Heidelberg Campus, 15 minutes from the CBD, is one of Victoria's major training centres in building trades, electronics and engineering. Heidelberg Campus training facilities simulate real work environments and are popular with students and employers. The robotics simulation facility presents students with a challenge, as do the AutoCAD training centre and the plumbing classrooms equipped with the latest appliances and tools donated by industry. The 'barn' boasts an eight metre roof and 1450 square metre floor space which is used for a variety of training purposes including the construction of full scale relocatable homes.
