NMIT (Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE) is the biggest provider of training to the agriculture sector with courses delivered from the Epping Campus located on Melbourne's northern rural fringe. Epping Campus is home to award winning cattle, welding workshops, a forklift training area and glass houses for herb production. It also hosts one of Victoria's few indoor recirculating aquaculture facilities. Nearby are three of NMIT's impressive specialist training centres, the Northern Lodge farm at Yan Yean; Northern Lodge Eden Park, a 60 hectare horse stud; and the Growling Frog Vineyard. Currently under construction is the Green Skills Centre of Excellence Training Centre, with $9.5million funding for the project provided from the Training Infrastructure Investment for Tomorrow (TIIFT) program as part of the Federal Government’s Teaching and Learning Capital Fund (TLCF) for Vocational Education and Training (VET).
