About the institution
The Diploma of Visual Art is designed to provide students with the opportunity to develop skills and techniques relevant to employment within the visual arts industry. The program includes core competencies in visual culture and professional practice plus elective competencies in studio areas such as painting, sculpture, printmaking, digital media, drawing and ceramics. Requires an application to be submitted and assessed prior to enrolment, download a BNIT application form or call 131 248.

Part time and direct Institute applications will be considered. To be eligible you will have:
- successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent
- are of mature age, or have a Certificate III in Arts or special entry.

Additionally, all applicants MUST submit a portfolio of artwork.

Details about the Portfolio:
It should be flat and no larger than A1 or good quality photographs of your work. It should contain a variety of work to show your ability and commitment to art studies, and should contain 10-15 original art pieces. These can be photographs, drawings, and small original works, journals or computer disks. BNIT's art teachers can assist with more information if required.
