This course will explore how to capture the poetics of pictorial space using a range of materials and techniques. The first part of the course is designed to give a grounding in or a revision of basic drawing skills acquisition. The projects selected are designed to sharpen your observation skills. This program asks the student to draw from observation, and encourages each to demonstrate the interplay between real and imaginary interpretations of the pictorial space. The actual journey taken here is through the creative process. Exercises are based on the dualism of motion and static, sensibility and decision, and playfulness and seriousness. They are designed to help you explore your imaginative and creative abilities to intensify the sensation of a journey.
