This course covers many aspects of modern automotive technology. Besides presenting the underpinning theory with vivid graphics and animations, there are also diagnostic simulations that provide practical, true-to-life exercises. The understanding of the subject material is assessed by various types of interactive activities such as multi-choice questions and drag-and-drop exercises. Student grades can be reported to the customer's learning management system (LMS) using the AICC or SCORM information transfer protocol. The Diesel Engine Theory course provides the student with the necessary underpinning theory to understand how modern diesel engines and the associated systems work. Approximately 20 hours are required to complete all eight sessions. Internet access, PC with colour monitor, MS Internet Explorer 6 and WIN2000 or WIN XP are required to undertake this course.
