About the institution
This course offers students a variety of food experiences as they select and prepare foods from different countries. From simple meals they can prepare at home, to catering for large quantities. The class prepares the Sandybeach Centre light lunches which operate once per month and are open to the public by booking a week ahead. Contact Sandybeach reception area for details. Students develop skills for home cooking or for the hospitality area. As an exciting new aspect to the course they will include ways to greet customers, complete table settings, present meals and the role of a waiter.

Sandybeach Community Co-operative Society, known as Sandybeach Centre, was established by Bruce and Rosemary Morey and their family in 1982 as an independent, not-for-profit community organisation. Its unique public-spirited origin and structure makes Sandybeach a vigorous model for the community - a place for people to shape and deliver the services they need. Sandybeach Centre is a Registered Training Organisation and provides accredited and non-accredited adult education courses, lifestyle, leisure, health and wellbeing classes. Sandybeach also provides services to the community including occasional childcare, courses for adults with disabilities, social support for the frail elderly and respite programs for clients with dementia and their carers.
