About the institution
USC’s digital design programs are ideal for those who have completed an undergraduate degree or its equivalent in a discipline other than digital design and multimedia. They offer interactive design studies equivalent to those available within the higher levels of a bachelor degree.

The Graduate Certificate in Digital Design (Electronic Media) is a qualification that is industry relevant and provides practical skills. Learn to design and develop web and screen-based media solutions for a range of professional and commercial applications. Courses introduce a range of design and software skills related to web design, digital video and sound production, vector-based animation and interactive design. Using traditional and digital design techniques to create effective solutions to new media communication challenges, you undertake projects addressing information architecture, navigation design and content production using industry-standard software. Projects include design for online learning, visual communication, entertainment, sales and advertising.

In the Graduate Certificate in Digital Design (Print and Imaging) you develop or enhance your skills in the print-related digital media industries. Learn to use a range of software for digital graphic design and desktop publishing, producing work and promotional materials for your personal portfolio and a gallery exhibition at the University. Develop your practical skills working on industry-relevant projects, including concept development, marketing strategies, corporate design, logo development, packaging, typography, media placement and press production. This is an excellent way to explore the range of creative design possibilities made available through digital imaging applications.

The Graduate Diploma in Digital Design (Print and Electronic Media) comprises both of the above graduate certificates undertaken either sequentially or simultaneously. This pathway gives you the opportunity to broaden your studies to encompass both print and electronic media. You can apply units completed under either graduate certificate toward the higher award if you decide to upgrade your qualification. In studying for the Graduate Diploma, you develop a broader range of practical and creative skills relevant to the creative and technical demands of today’s design profession.
