This postgraduate introductory level course is designed to give you a concise yet critical introduction to the application of human rights in our society today and to key aspects of the history and development of an international discourse of human rights, especially in the twenty first century. It will also provide you with an introduction to the evolution of an applied human rights perspective which is multi-disciplinary in character, relies on education, dialogue and policy advocacy, and seeks to embed a culture of human rights in public interest organisations and the wider community.
