In this course, students gain a basic knowledge of dental pathology and infection control. Students will learn how to monitor and maintain cleanliness of the clinical area, clean and sterilize instruments, wear protective equipment and use correct handwashing techniques. The course provides students with an introduction and pathway to the Certificate III in Dental Assisting (HLT31807). On successful completion students will receive HLTIN301A Comply with infection control policies and procedures in health work and HLTIN302A Process reusable instruments and equipment in health work.
