The Master of Economics may be undertaken in two Schools of the Faculty: School of Accounting, Economics and Finance, and Deakin Business School. It is available full time or part time, and on campus or off campus (if appropriate). A member of the academic staff will be appointed as principal supervisor for each candidate for a higher degree by research. Associate supervisors, either internal or external, may be appointed to assist the principal supervisor. Candidates will be required to meet certain attendance requirements. A candidate is required to complete a thesis embodying the results of research carried out in the field of study specified at the time of enrolment.
1.Students must formally undertake Enrolment on or before the date prescribed in each year.
2.The University will publish comprehensive and accurate information regarding Course rules and requirements in the University handbooks.
3.Each Faculty will appoint enrolment officers to provide Course advice and information on Course rules and approve courses of study that comply with Course requirements.
4.Students are responsible for:
•planning their pattern of study to meet Course requirements
•ensuring their Enrolment details as recorded by the University are correct
•ensuring they complete their Course within the maximum period for the Course.
5.International students must ensure that their Enrolment complies with their visa requirements.
The Warrnambool campus of Deakin University is situated approximately five kilometres east of the city of Warrnambool. The residences are set amidst spacious grounds which extend to the banks of the Hopkins River. A nine hole golf course, tennis, basketball/netball and squash courts, as well as a football oval and gymnasium are featured on campus. A daily bus service operates from the University to the city and surrounding areas.
The residences provide accommodation for 240 students in a co-educational and multi-cultural environment. Various styles of accommodation are offered. Each resident is accommodated in their own furnished bedroom and all buildings have communal lounge areas, kitchens and bathrooms. Laundry facilities are also available in each unit.
Warrnambool residences consist of Bruce Morris Terrace, Sherwood House, Sherwood House II, Tuuram House, Wally Crowe Court, and the Wally Crowe Court Mansions. In total there are 25 units ranging from 4 to 21 bedrooms.
