About the institution
The Master of Information Management offers graduates the opportunity to complete all of the professional units required for triple accreditation in librarianship, records management and archives. The units in the librarianship specialisation include topics in collection development resource description and access, and management of library and information services. The records management specialisation units provide an introduction to the processes of information handling and use within organisations and the basic principles of records management and archives. Both areas provide an overview of the use of computers and communication technologies. The range of elective units offered only at the Masters level allows students who do not intend to complete the triple qualification the option of continuing studying within either the librarianship or records management specialisation, or an opportunity to complete a research project.
This is a restricted programme. Enrolment is only available to students who have been accepted into this programme. Please download the application form from the Open Universities' website. Applications should be emailed to: apply@open.edu.au or faxed to: +61 3 8628 2989.
