This degree extends the MPH program by the addition of a professional practice placement. The program will suit high quality students who wish to pursue a career in public health and are looking for professional opportunities to further develop the skills in the practice of public health.
Students will have the opportunity to undertake 12 additional credit points of study/training in a supervised professional placement. Eligibility will be restricted to students who attain a weighted average mark of at least 75% in their first 24 core credit points within the MPH. Selection will be based on a competitive process which will include elements such as the development of a placement proposal and overall academic performance. Students will need to develop their placement proposal, and with staff guidance, negotiate a suitable supervised placement in an Australian public health institution. Successful applicants will transfer from MPH to MPH (Professional Practice) and enrol for an additional semester (12 credit points) while completing their placement (approximately equivalent to 6 weeks full time work).
Please contact the course coordinator towards the end of your MPH to find out how to apply.
