About the institution
This course is for people involved in the metalliferous mining industry. The course provides new employees and existing miners with skills, knowledge and/or recognition required by a miner for a range of employments in the metalliferous mining industry. Depending upon their employment requirements they will learn to perform specialised techniques and procedures used in the industry, and to observe statutory and legal compliance requirements. They will also learn about risk management systems, and quality and continuous improvement processes. They will learn to comply with and demonstrate commitment to all aspects of relevant legislation and codes of practice relating to the operation of an underground metalliferous mine, including occupational health and safety and environmental issues. This is a Statement of attainment program.
