You will attend two blocks of five days for each year of the program. During these blocks practical projects will be covered such as edging and fitting; functional dispensing and professional application. You work systematically through activities and assessment tasks in study area specific workbooks. RMIT teaching staff will conduct workplace visits.
The certificate provides you with the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required to safely and effectively perform the entry level roles and responsibilities of an optical dispenser. The program combines off-the-job training at RMIT and on-the-job training in the workplace. RMIT staff liaise closely with workplace supervisors to facilitate training to meet individual learning needs.
The program is delivered as a combination of on-the-job training at the workplace and off-the-job training.
Most commencing students will enrol online. If you are required to enrol online you need to log in to my RMIT and click on the link to Enrolment Online. You can enrol online at any time before the deadline in your offer letter from any computer with internet access.
