What will you learn in the Optical Dispensing course?
This nationally recognised course prepares you to work as an optical dispenser. You will learn the technical skills you need to select and fit lenses from prescription and become an optical dispenser. You learn about:
• Basic light theory
• Lenses and frames
• Anatomy and physiology of the eye.
• The practical aspects of dealing with clients, assessing their optical needs and selecting the most appropriate appliance
• Managing an optical dispensing practice.
To operate as an Optical Dispenser in NSW the requirements of the Optical Dispensing Licensing Board in accordance with the Optical Dispensers Licensing Act 1963, must be met. Those requirements can be satisfied by completing this course, plus gaining additional practical on-the-job experience as set out in the NSW Optical Licensing Board Log Book.
