The PROGRAZE programme is a skills course developed by the Meat Research Corporation and State Departments of Agriculture.
PROGRAZE is designed to help producers:
• Develop pasture and animal assessment skills (fat score sheep and cattle),
• Understand how to use these skills to improve the profitability and sustainability of pasture grazing systems,
• Estimate animal production from pasture of differing quality and quantity,
• Set benchmarks to optimise livestock performance and pasture production,
• Learn about pasture management and
• Learn how to achieve market targets for meat through pasture and livestock management.
Prograze is delivered using a workshop style, conducted 3 to 4 weeks apart. The PROGRAZE course uses a hands-on approach, with sessions conducted on-farm and in the paddock. The discussions with other producers and practical sessions are combined to allow participants to have a full learning experience.
Students should download the application form from NMIT's website, complete and email or post the form to NMIT.
