Successful completion entitles qualified electricians to apply to the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE) for Grid-connect Installation accreditation. Topics include: assemble and set up photovoltaic apparatus in domestic dwellings (k024B), solve basic problems in PV energy apparatus (k025B) and install and set up grid connected photovoltaic power systems (k026B). Once accredited, participants are encouraged to install their own system at home for little cost (due to the rebates available).
This campus is 41 kilometres from central Melbourne and facilities include a student cafeteria and lounge, a library and bookshop and on-site parking. With a modern, community atmosphere, Chisholm Berwick boasts a $2.6M computer Engineering and Electronics facility with state-of-the-art equipment. It is also the home of the Berwick Technical Centre (TEC) which continues to offer additional vocational training options to the south east region. It is a site for the Centre of Integrated Health and Community Well-being featuring a comprehensive health training simulation laboratory.
