In this course students gain the food safety skills they need to work in food businesses such as food retailing, cafes, restaurants, nursing homes and child care organisations. This course is also suitable for people who work as volunteers in schools and community groups and those who wish to re-enter the paid workforce. It satisfies the knowledge requirements from the relevant units of competency in the hospitality, retail, health and food processing training packages.
This campus is 41 kilometres from central Melbourne and facilities include a student cafeteria and lounge, a library and bookshop and on-site parking. With a modern, community atmosphere, Chisholm Berwick boasts a $2.6M computer Engineering and Electronics facility with state-of-the-art equipment. It is also the home of the Berwick Technical Centre (TEC) which continues to offer additional vocational training options to the south east region. It is a site for the Centre of Integrated Health and Community Well-being featuring a comprehensive health training simulation laboratory.
