About the institution
The Animal Nutrition subject is an introduction to the principles of ruminant and monogastric (mainly horses) nutrition. All students will complete a module covering nutrients in animal feeds, nutrient digestion, absorption and metabolism. Students studying Equine Studies will then complete modules covering feeding standards for horses and the application of scientific principles to the practical feeding of horses. Students enrolled in other courses will complete modules covering feeding standards for ruminants and the application of these to sheep and cattle.
