Single Subject Study: Parasitology
Parasitic diseases of animals continue to be of major economic importance to the grazing livestock industries in Australia, while in developing countries they remain a significant cause of suffering and death.
This subject will examine common parasites, their life cycle and associated disease processes in livestock, horses, companion animals, aquatic animals and Australian native fauna. The management and control of parasitic diseases will be studied in individual animals and in herds. Parasitic diseases capable of being transmitted to humans will also be studied in detail.
