JANSEN NEWMAN INSTITUTE

The Jansen Newman Institute (JNI) was established in 1978 to provide professional education and training for counsellors and psychotherapists. JNI is also one of Sydney’s oldest private higher education institutions.

JNI offers Diplomas, Associate Degrees, Bachelor degrees and Graduate Diploma programmes in human resource management, community services, counselling and psychotherapy. These programmes can be undertaken on a full-time, part-time and correspondence basis.

JNI also provides professional counselling services.

Enrolment information
Applicants must be over 18 years of age and completed Year 12 HSC with a minimum ATAR of 63.4. Mature age applicants (21 years or over) must show relevant work experience and/or demonstrate ability undertake study at this level. Postgraduate studies 1. Degree or equivalent in psychology, social work, teaching, nursing, welfare, counselling, rehabilitation counselling, behavioural sciences or education. 2. Degree or equivalent in any discipline plus previous additional training or current training in psychology, counselling or psychotherapy. Admission into the above programme is subject to a successful applicant interview.
