U3A is a world-wide movement organised on a voluntary basis by active retired people in the "third age" of their lives. The Sale learning group was formed in 1988.
By drawing on skills of its own members and the general public, it enables participants to take up new interests and extend existing ones. Enhancing their sense of self-worth and extending their range of acquaintances.
Courses include bush walking, computer skills, English literature, mahjong, tai chi and current affairs.
