UNIVERSITY OF TASMANIA

The University of Tasmania (UTAS) offers foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes.
Courses offered by the UTAS for undergraduate and postgraduate students include:

  • arts, covering Aboriginal studies, visual and performing arts, languages, Asian studies, sociology;
  • maritime studies, covering  seafaring, maritime engineering, maritime business and logistics and marine environment and resources;
  • business, covering economics, accounting, information systems, tourism, finance
  • education;
  • health science covering medicine, nursing, midwifery, human life sciences, rural health etc;
  • law;
  • science, Engineering and Technology courses,  encompassing earth sciences, environmental studies, psychology, agricultural science, mathematics, physics, aquaculture among others.


The UTAS also offers combined degrees programmes.

Enrolment information
UTAS requires qualifications equivalent to Australia’s year 12 standards. A list of corresponding countries and its equivalent can be found on the admissions page of UTAS’ website. All applicants must meet the prerequisite subjects and grades to be considered for acceptance into their selected courses. Students who do not meet the minimum grades can enrol at the UTAS’ foundation studies programme. Prospective postgraduate students would need to have a Bachelors degree in the relevant subject.
