You can study the Petroleum Tanker Safety course at the Challenger Institute of Technology from July 4 to July 8 in 2011, or from December 5 to December 9, 2011. If you’d like to study the Gas and Chemical Tanker Safety course it runs from July 11 to July 15, 2011, or from December 12 to December 16, 2011. The combined course goes for a total of 10 days. Classes are run from 8:30am to 4:30pm at the WA Maritime Training Centre in Fremantle. The combined course costs $2,250.00, while you can study each component separately for $1,125.00.
The Petroleum Tanker Safety course has no pre-requisites, but Chemical and/or Gas Tanker Safety students need to already possess a Petroleum Tanker Safety certificate from an approved training organisation, as well as certificates in Elementary First Aid (or Senior First Aid) and Advanced Fire Fighting.
