My brother is a radiographer with 8 years of experience in India. The courses he has completed are diploma in radiography (1 year) and MRI scan course (1 year) after higher secondary (commerce batch). All these are from India. Is he eligible for any radiography course in Australia? If so, which are they? Bincy

Hi Bincy,

In order to qualify as a radiographer in Australia, candidates must complete a Medical Imaging degree or a Bachelor of Nursing followed by a post-graduate qualification in medical imaging. Many Australian universities do recognise qualifications and experience gained overseas as prior learning, which can contribute toward an Australian qualification.

Charles Sturt University offers a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Imaging) through distance education. This course is designed for radiographers with overseas qualifications to upgrade to degree level, which is necessary for practice in Australia.

Regards,

Sarah
