University of South Australia offers mentoring scheme

University of South Australia students will meet executives from some of the world's biggest companies as part of a new initiative from February 1.

The university's new Executive Partners Program will offer management students invaluable insights from recently retired or semi-retired senior executives at blue-chip companies, who want to contribute to students' understanding of industry.

Former senior research and development manager of Exxon Mobil USA Dr Ian Cody and former general manager at Mitsubishi Motors Trevor Angus are among the executives who have stepped forward to share their knowledge and experience.

Director of the Executive Partners Program and executive director of Mitsubishi’s National Dealer Council, UniSA’s Peter McInnes, said: "This mentoring scheme offers excellent opportunities for students to gain industry and life insights from successful and experienced industry executives."

There are 20 places on offer for The Executive Partners Program, which is free to postgraduate students in the School of Management who have attained a Grade Point Average of 5.0 or above.

Initially the program will be offered exclusively to postgraduate students but may extend to include undergraduate students in the future.
