Overview of Natural Therapies
Natural therapies involve working with clients holistically in order to prevent and treat disease. Should you choose to study a course in natural therapies, you will have the option to work in a range of alternative medicine careers.
Many alumni who have studied natural therapy are able to work in naturopathy, homeopathy, acupuncture, aromatherapy, reflexology, and many other areas. Study options are broad, from qualifications in a Certificate to Advanced Diploma level. |
Studying Natural Therapies
It is a requirement to have government certified qualifications to be an accredited naturopath, or work in the natural therapies industry. Therefore it is important that you check your institution for industry acknowledgement. However, once you have graduated with a qualification, you are able to begin working immediately in the area of your choice.
Whilst studying natural therapies you will learn many specialised skills, including how to provide naturopathic treatment, plan a treatment strategy, perform naturopathic health assessments, and how to manage a natural therapies practice.
There are also many alternative pathways to specialise in, should you wish to hone in on a more localised treatment framework.
Most natural therapy colleges offer several ways of studying your course, including full time, part time, or distance learning. The length of study varies depending on the alternative medicine career you are studying for.
